Sue McDowell is recently retired as co-owner of McDowell Remodeling, a residential remodeling firm in business in St. Charles, for 46 years, with her husband, Bob.  As in many small businesses, Sue wears several €œhats€ in the business including CFO, as well as Marketing Manager.

Born in Minneapolis, her family relocated to St. Charles in 1967, where Sue graduated from High School, attended Northern Illinois University and met and married Bob.  Sue had a career in retail management for many years, while assisting Bob with the growth of their remodeling business, behind the scenes.  In 1990 she left the retail industry to work full time with Bob in the business, which also allowed her the time to get involved in the community.  Some of her past and present involvement, include the Delnor Hospital Auxiliary, the board of the St. Charles Heritage Center, the board and committees of the Chamber of Commerce, Downtown St. Charles Partnership, the board of BMO Harris Bank, and Sue was one of the original founders of the St. Charles Arts Council.  Under the umbrella of the Downtown St. Charles Partnership, Sue has chaired the St. Charles Fine Art Show for the past 20 years.
