Monica Crowe Corbett founded B Sharp Music for Children in 2003, an early childhood music & movement program reaching over 300 children monthly in the western suburbs.  10 years later this musical journey grew to include Piano for Kids classes, and private lessons.  In addition to composing and arranging, Monica most recently developed an on-line piano teaching studio. Her musical endeavors with youth also include serving as the Children’s Music Director at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she enjoys including her dog, Snoop in her church’s online Children’s messages. She has directed the pit orchestra for Marquee Youth Stage’s productions of Mary Poppins, Shrek, Little Mermaid and Newsies

Monica’s passion for the arts extends into her community service as a member of the St. Charles Singers Board and the Kane Repertory Theatre Advisory Board. She is a member of the STC Education Foundation Board, including past VP and Gala Coordinator.  Monica serves on the Fundraising Committee of the St. Charles History Museum and as project coordinator for the Norris Cultural Arts productions of A Baker’s Dozen holiday video series. She is also past VP of the Chicago Chapter of the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association.

Monica and her husband Mike have called St. Charles home since 1995 where they raised their four children: Morgan, Palmer, Tommy and Hadley. In 2011, her family was featured in the Family Circle article naming St. Charles the #1 City to raise a family! Born and raised in metro-Detroit, Monica worked in public television and event ticketing before relocating to Ticketmaster’s Chicago office.

Monica has a BA in Music & Communication from the University of Michigan. She was a Management Fellow with the League of American Orchestras, and was named as a Featured Alumna of Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp.
