Mike joined St Charles Singers in 2005. Originally hailing from Rochester, New York, Mike misses the type of burger joint where they can find an excuse to put hot sauce on just about any fast food meat product, which in turn adds spice and more meat. Oh and don’t get me started on what you call buffalo wings and pizza here in the Midwest¦ But the Midwest is where his wife and children are, thus it is home to him now.
Mike graduated from the State University of New York-Geneseo with a BA in vocal performance and received the Master of Music in Education from Ithaca College. Mike is a National Board Certified Teacher and has been employed at Elmwood Park District 401 since 2002. He is also director of Choral Ministries at the United Methodist Church of Geneva, where he directs 4 children’s and adult choirs. He enjoys riding with his energizer bunny on his helmet in charity bike rides such as the MS150 for Multiple Sclerosis and at one time rode 530 miles in 6 days in the Heartland AIDSRide.
Mike and his wife Julie (also an SCS member) have been married since 2003 and have three wonderful children: Leah, Melanie, and Charlie.
