Sandra Benhart

Sandra Benhart (Sandie) is a Fox Valley native, born in Aurora and living in St. Charles since 1984.  Sandie grew up surrounded by music; her parents sang in the Aurora Festival Chorus and all 6 children either played an instrument or sang.  Sandie chose piano early on and added oboe in fifth grade, playing in band through high school.  These days, you will find her in the alto section of the choir at Baker Memorial United Methodist Church where she has enjoyed singing many incredible works over the last 30+ years.

Following graduation from the University of Illinois with a degree in Political Science and Economics, Sandie’s professional career took her to the insurance industry.  That has included work in both inside and outside sales, direct to consumer as well as B2B.  Several years in a home office environment added a very useful perspective.  She spent time developing countrywide field compensation programs and managing the projects to implement them.   Sandie currently serves as benefits counselor, Teacher Retirement System

Sandie is the chair of the SCS program committee.  In that role she manages the SCS scholarship program and educational outreach activities including Sing!
