Laura Johnson is the singer liaison between the choir and the board of directors, and also serves as director of our Sing! Workshop for Teens and College Laboratory Choir.  Laura began singing with St Charles Singers in 1990.  Laura was raised in Milford, Illinois.  Music was important in her household growing up.  Her mother taught piano to Laura, her sister and two brothers.  In order for all of them to practice there were two pianos in the house.  Since all four also played instruments other than piano there was lots of music happening in her home.

Laura is a graduate of the University of Illinois-Champaign/Urbana with a B.S. in Music Education.  She also holds a Master of Music degree from VanderCook College of Music.  Currently she is the Director of Choral Music at Glenbard North High School in Carol Stream, Illinois. She also guest conducts school vocal and choral festivals and contests. Laura is married to Mark and they live in Hanover Park, Illinois.  They have three adult.
