Cynthia is a free-lance musician, and has sung with St. Charles Singers since 2001. Her early interest in music led her to Goshen College where she earned a B.A. in piano pedagogy. Originally from Amish and Mennonite country in rural Ohio, one of Cynthia’s fondest memories is singing four part harmony hymns in church, a cappella, where her mother was song leader. Today, she continues her love of church music as part-time choir director at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva, in addition to singing at Church of the Ascension in Chicago. She sings in a variety of chamber groups as well as frequently singing in recital. One of her greatest joys has been making music with her three musical daughters, now grown.
