Deb Stevenson brings more than three decades of experience as a musician and more than 20 years in arts management, musician contracting, and organizational leadership. With a genuine love for music and a deep respect for the arts, she is honored to support the ongoing success and mission of the St. Charles Singers.
A highly accomplished oboist, Deb earned degrees in oboe performance from Northern Illinois University and Northwestern University, with additional studies at the University of Louisville and Boston University. Throughout her career, she has built a reputation for artistic excellence, both as a performer and as a leader within the classical music community. Her extensive experience has established her as a trusted collaborator and advocate for the arts across the Midwest.
Deb first performed with the choir during its inaugural season 40 years ago, marking the beginning of a meaningful association with the organization. For more than 25 years, she has played an instrumental role in the ensemble’s success, contracting musicians and contributing to artistic planning. Notably, she was a visionary team member in the creation and execution of the celebrated Mozart Journey, a groundbreaking 12-year series of concerts that showcased the choir’s talent and commitment to excellence.
Throughout her career, Deb has found fulfillment in creating opportunities for musicians and helping arts organizations thrive, even in challenging times. She approaches her work with humility and a steadfast belief in the transformative power of the arts. Her leadership is guided by a desire to nurture talent, foster meaningful collaborations, and build a strong foundation for the future of the St. Charles Singers.
