SING! 2018 Save the Date: Thursday July 19, 2018

Each summer, armed with pencils, sheet music, sack lunches, and an eagerness to learn, about 50 area high school students participate in the annual SING! sponsored by St. Charles Singers. Sine 2012 freshmen through seniors from area schools to spend a day honing their choral music skills.
Students may sign up for individual vocal coaching sessions with local professional voice coaches. Students are divided into small ensemble groups and train with seasoned area high school music teachers. The large group ensemble is prepared throughout the day for a presentation that evening to parents and friends.
Throughout the day students work on choral and vocal techniques while preparing a series of pieces to be performed.
“This is a great opportunity for students to learn skills such as singing with people with whom they have never sung”, remarked Lori Bormet, choral music conductor at Walther Lutheran High School in Oak Park. “Learning to blend and create an ensemble with new friends is something most students don’t get a chance to do in school,”
St. Charles Singers is committed to providing educational programming for students to broaden their opportunities to be exposed to great choral music. St. Charles Singers is under the music direction of Jeffrey Hunt.
