Cathie Ruth has been a tour director for student travel (especially performance groups) for the past 11 years and is a member of Chicago Tour Professional Association. Prior to that she worked to develop and carry out programs for a community recreation program, taught vocal music (K-8) and was executive director of a Camp Fire council. She was an involved parent volunteer in the schools and in sports in support of her sons.
She continues to be an active part of Baker Memorial United Methodist Church singing in the choir and ringing in the bell choir, serving in mission and on various committees. She has served on St. Charles Singers Board of Directors for many years and is currently Program Committee Chair and Vice President/Secretary of the board. You will see her at most concerts as House Manager.
Cathie is a graduate of Oregon State University's School of Forestry and has a BS in Resource Recreation Management. She married Doug Ruth whom she first met in the 7th grade band. After moving around the country while Doug was in the Navy, they came to St. Charles in 1993. They have two adult sons who live in the Chicago area. Music has been and always will be a focal part of her life!
