
Candace is a charter member of St Charles Singers. She is a native of Traer, Iowa. Even though it is a small town she says that she got a great music education there.
Candace graduated from Coe College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa with a Bachelor of Music Education and Voice. She has also done some graduate work at Roosevelt University, Chicago, Illinois in vocal performance. Currently she divides her time between bookkeeping and singing/acting.
Candace has also sung for and recorded backup vocals for local Christian singer, J. Brian Hill.
Candace loves musical theater first and foremost as well as any kind of choral music. She also enjoys jazz, blues, gospel, small group singing and especially Sondheim.
Candace's professional repertoire is quite extensive. She has acted in and recorded voice-overs in several commercial films for clients such as McDonalds Corporation and the Urban Library Council. Her theatre roles have included Heidi in Follies, Nimue in Camelot, Cinderella's Mom in Into the Woods, Meg in Damn Yankees, Mrs. Glupp in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fiona in Brigadoon and Abigail Adams in 1776.
In addition to her work with St Charles Singers she has also performed with Fragments of Light, a twelve voice gospel ensemble, and Table for Five, a close-harmony quintet.
When she isn't singing or acting Candace enjoys travel and spending time with her family and friends and at her church.
Candace is widowed with 2 sons, 1 daughter and 5 grandchildren.
