
Brett M. Kirhofer graduated from Northern Illinois University, with a B.M. in Music Education. While at NIU, Brett studied voice with Robert Sims and Diane Ragains and studied choral conducting with Eric A. Johnson. He was an active member of the American Choral Directors Association and served as President of the NIU chapter and also served as the Student Representative on the IL-ACDA board. Brett was also active as a singer, singing 4 years with the NIU Concert Choir and Chamber Choir under the direction of Eric Johnson, as well as the Canterbury Singers under the direction of Robert K. Campbell. While singing with the NIU Chamber Choir, Brett performed Haydn’s Theresienmesse at Avery Fisher Hall in New York City, and also did a weeklong residency at Canterbury Cathedral, England.
